I know it is unbelievable. But apparently these rules DO NOT APPLY to icelanders.

I've been living in Iceland. I follow all those rules in order to not fall and break my neck, but they do they exact opposite. All of them. All. You see them RUNNING AND SURFING, DOWNHILL, on the sidewalks downtown. You see them doing so with complete confidence in some form of viching divinity that simply does not make them slip againt all the laws of physics. Women do so with heels. They walk comfortably and FAST on the most slippery ice while I grab myself to some wall, and with long steps too. No short steps like I do.

And they also walk like badmen.

I have NO IDEA of they do it. But I invite you to go to Reykjavik in the winter time and see this miracle with your own eyes.

Actually I saw a documentary that said penguins were very efficient walkers, even more so than human beings because of their waddling. Makes sense :)
