Forget rules -- most of the "rules" I've seen published were other people telling me how *I* should use Twitter to enhance *their* experience.

It's simple courtesy. Like what you mentioned about starting tweets with the "@" for webusers. When sending multiple "@"s, I've even been known to see which of the recipients was on the web (instead of twhirl or snitter) so I could line them up first.

Shey, I am 100% with you on this one. I recently wrote my own set of VERY sarcastic ‘rules’ for Twitter.

Rules? HA! I laugh at rules on the internet. Common courtesy, just like in the ‘real’ world, will do just fine. After that, each person has the right to their own experiences.

I think the main think you need to consider on Twitter (as with anywhere else on the web) is how you manage your reputation. Just don't do anything that could come back and bite you in the rear at a later date.
