25 Things You May Not Know About Me

Enjoy :)

  1. I love to sing, like in choirs and quartets.  I sing pretty high too, I’m a tenor.  And, in fact, I can sing higher than my wife who sings alto.  Some say I’m a freak, I say it’s a blessing.
  2. I can crack nearly every joint in my body.  Neck, back (upper and lower), fingers, toes, knees, elbows, wrist (yup!), ankles.  Except the shoulders – haven’t figured that one out yet.
  3. There are photos of me dressed up as a woman in a robe, with makeup on.  I pray they haven’t hit the interwebz yet.
  4. Remember the girl from SNL who liked to scratch and sniff her armpits?  I do that with my ears.  Ugh, should have kept that one to myself huh?
  5. I once buffed my nails with a huge metal file in my high school shop class because I was bored.  Overkill much.
  6. I started balding at 19.
  7. When I first came to Canada, the kids used to tease me because I didn’t think there was anything wrong with picking my nose in public.
  8. I started school when I was 2.  And was reading at 3.  I read encyclopedias for fun.
  9. I sweat very easily.
  10. I cried the first time I experienced freezing rain.  I was 9.
  11. I LOVE going on roller coasters, the more twisted and sadistic the better.  But I’ll never do bungee jumping, skydiving, or any of that other crazy stuff.
  12. I believe there’s nothing I can’t do with preparation and training.
  13. Like Spidra, I can wiggle my ears and flare my nostrils at will.
  14. Bugs creep me out.  Like make-me-scream type creepy.
  15. I’ve had 5 teeth pulled, but still have my wisdom teeth.
  16. I love going out at night.  Especially to explore.
  17. I don’t like horror movies because the images stick in my head.  That’s what I get for watching Carrie when I was 6. (The hand sticking out of the ground haunts me to this day).
  18. I LOVE LOVE LOVE road trips.  Our last two trips to Myrtle Beach, I’ve driven the whole way, and back (24 hrs).
  19. My left eye is lighter than my right.
  20. If someone tells me I can’t do something, I’ll usually end up doing it just to prove them wrong, no matter how long it takes.
  21. I have a mole on my tummy.
  22. I’ve shaved my chest twice, and Seinfeld was right – the itch of it growing back is horrific.
  23. The one superpower I want is to be able to clear up bad breath from anyone around me.
  24. I do not trim my eyebrows.
  25. I LOVE thunderstorms.
  26. I never thought I could find 25 semi-interesting things about myself, I’m surprised I got this done.

Hey Shey if you get that #23 super power working, then I want one that is like krytonite to my dog's breath :)

Anyone read those ChildLife books? I loved them as a kid. I'd read encyclopedias, too, but not back-to-back. When I ran out of my books, I'd find my mother's, no matter where she hid them. Seems she didn't think Sidney Sheldon, Erica Jong and Danielle Steel were appropriate for a preteen. Ok, I'm exaggerating; I actually found Jong boring. Zipless? WTF?

Freaked out? You so silly, Shey. Your list made me smile almost as much as the picture on your site of you and your wife. You cool peeps. Even if you do cuddle during football. HA!

  • Hi, Shey you look so cheerful and and have a sense of humor I like your personality, thanks for sharing more about your self.
  • I laughed out loud at #23. That would be a killer super power! I once sat in a seminar next to someone who was killing me just by breathing in my space. Ugh! I know I'm late in reading this, but there are so many out there. I can't keep up! I posted mine on FB.
  • lol thanks, I'll check yours out too
  • Really awesome insight into your life Shey. Thanks for sharing!
  • Thanks Sameer!
  • Matik72
You are quite welcome! I always like to get to know folks better. :-)
  • Well done! Doing something like this scares me...maybe I should face that challenge?? hmm....
  • Go for it!
  • We'll see...don't count on it though :)
  • Matik72
    Great stuff, Shey! :-)
  • Thanks Matthew :)
  • Shey - I think you have convinced me to give in to Mona's request. This is great. I used to have a boss that was a tenor and looked a lot like you (also from Jamaica if I remember correctly). He was a fantastic singer, so I am curious to compare. I lost my tenor due to a few too many years of smoking so I am a solid baritone now, if I ever sing that is.
  • Looking forward to it Rob!

Make sure you include a recording :)
  • For #2, I just clasp my hands behind my back and pull upwards. Go ahead, try it, then you can say you've reached my level of crackiness.
  • Shey - this is so awesome. I feel like I know you better than I did a few minutes ago. Your little quirks crack me up!! And if I ever get to meet you and Jas, I will bring a suitcase full of bottled bugs -- just to creep you out. But don't mind I hate creepy crawlies, too. ;) You RULE.
  • Thanks Mona! :)
  • Are you a Troll? LOL
