Hey Toronto, Want To Reduce Traffic? Invest In Telecommuting

City of TorontoAccording to the OECD (Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development), traffic congestion in the Toronto region costs Canada $3.3-billion in lost productivity a year. The news is reporting that the OECD is suggesting Toronto add congestion tolls, new taxes (parking and fuel) as well as high occupancy toll lanes in a move to reduce traffic on GTA (Greater Toronto Area) highways.

But will tax increases ever be enough?  What we need is a smarter solution to this, and the answer is telecommuting.

I had TechCrunch and Scobleizer on the list but their recent redesigns look great!

Hopefully, without sounding like another design snob, I’d like to list some popular blogs that I hope get a redesign in 2009.

ShareThis Updated For FriendFeed and Sphinn

ShareThisShareThis is a widget for posting and sharing websites to several popular social networks, social sites and email contacts.  In addition to Facebook, MySpace, Digg, Delicious, Reddit, StumbleUpon and many others, users can now easily submit sites to FriendFeed and Sphinn.

You can see it in action at the bottom of all my posts, courtesy of the ShareThis WordPress plugin (there’s also a JavaScript version available).  A tip for WordPress K2 users, make sure to turn off Advanced Navigation when using ShareThis.
